Tu-16K-26 Badger G - Trumpeter 03907 The Tu-16, Badger, NATO code name, was developed by Tupolev in the 1950s and introduced in 1954. It was produced from 1952 to 1962 in large numbers by Voronezh Aircraft Production Association, and a total of 1509 airframes were produced. Its main operators were the Soviet Union, then later Russia, Egypt, Iraq, and Indonesia. The Tu-16 was designed as a dual-engine heavy strategic jet bomber and numerous variations were made.
