The most important but also most overlooked connection when towing is the safety chains. The factory length safety chains are oftentimes not long enough to connect your trailer to your hitch receiver when utilizing a drop hitch. Our safety chains will allow you to connect the trailer to your vehicles hitch receiver regardless of what size drop you have. The BulletProof Extreme Duty Chains feature 1/2 inch thick chain links; they are 42 long and are sold as a pair of 2 chains.

Safety chains connect the trailer to the hitch receiver and provide a backup in case the coupler detaches from the ball. Attaching safety chains to a hitch receiver when using a drop hitch can be very difficult or simply impossible under certain circumstances. With this 5/8” shackle, you can attach your safety chains to the channel on any BulletProof Hitch. This allows you to get the correct safety chain length without the need for chain extenders.
